The photo exhibition “Capturing Beech Forests”, opened first in Eberswalde, Germany back in December 2019, has now moved to its next location: the city of Angermünde. The exhibition was opened by the major of the Angermünde, the project manager of BEECH POWER at the Angermünde City Administration and the deputy head of the Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin on 13th February 2020. The exhibition opening was attended by many interested visitors – citizens of Angermünde and pupils from a school that will participate in the international youth exchange programme, implemented within the BEECH POWER project.
The photo exhibition highlights the high value of the last remnants of old-growth beech forests in Europe and captures the essence of beech forests through enabling visitors to see various sides of beech forests, their beauty, (bio)diversity as well as threats to beech forest ecosystems all around Europe.
The exhibition was prepared by Cristina Lemmo within the Interreg Volunteer Youth programme at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. In its next stop, the exhibition is open to the public until end of April at the City Hall of Angermünde. After that, it will continue on its journey and will be presented by various project partners.
