Register now for the Code of Quality Management for World Heritage Beech Forests Webinar & Training

The UNESCO World Heritage property “Primeval and Ancient Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe” is the largest transnational serial site in the WH list, comprising 94 component parts, distributed across more than 50 protected areas in 18 European countries. It presents a very complex and challenging WH site in terms of management, both on international and component part level.

The BEECH POWER project has developed a “Code of Quality Management for World Heritage Beech Forests”, which contains a series of principles, criteria and indicators that help managers to assess the current management situation, define desired developments and guide their future management. The Code was implemented for testing and first results in five pilot areas of the project. It is available for other World Heritage beech forest managers to be used.

On the 30th of March 2022, from 09:00 – 13:00 CET, BEECH POWER will organise two events to present the Code of quality management and introduce its application. Managers of World Heritage beech forests, as well as experts involved in the development and further interested stakeholders are cordially invited to participate.

  • A webinar (09:00 – 10:00) for practitioners and end-users of the Code of quality management will address the development, structure, contents and implementation process.
  • A training (10:30-13:00) will introduce the Code of quality management assessment tool including guidance on the steps and material of the application process as well as examples of indicators and their guiding questions.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the events. In case you are interested in attending only one of the above events, please feel free to join for the meeting within the respective time slot.
